One Hour a Day
Balancing Full-Time Work and Passion Projects
I currently work full-time while embracing my passion for writing and content creation. My work schedule doesn’t follow the typical 9-5 routine, but since I work in administration, I still consider myself a white-collar worker. My previous job required long, unpredictable hours, which drained me and pushed me to seek something more fulfilling. I thrive on structure and purpose, and I knew I needed to create a life that aligned with my true passions.
Your Dreams Are Worth Chasing
No matter where you are right now—whether you love your job or feel stuck in a cycle that doesn’t inspire you—your dreams are worth chasing. If there’s something calling to you, something that ignites a spark within, don’t ignore it. Pursue it, even when it feels impossible.
Some days, showing up for your passion is easier said than done. We all experience exhaustion, frustration, and the urge to switch off and escape into mindless scrolling or TV marathons. But ask yourself: does that truly make you feel rested? Does it bring you closer to the life you envision?
From Consumer to Creator: Shifting My Mindset
I had to learn that all desires and needs have a place in our lives, but they need to be balanced with intention. I still enjoy social media and TV, but now I see them differently. I realised that every moment spent online is a choice—am I consuming, or am I creating?
Being a creator brings me fulfillment, but there’s no shame in being a consumer either. The key is mindfulness. Now, when I scroll or unwind, I do so with purpose—not as an escape from the life I’m trying to build.
Showing Up When It’s Hard
When I committed to content creation and launching this blog, I knew I had to carve out time for it. I work 12-hour shifts, staring at a screen all day, and some nights, the last thing I want to do is sit at another laptop. But in those moments, I remind myself why I started. I think about the future I am working toward—the life I want to create.
Every successful creator, entrepreneur, or dreamer has one thing in common: they show up even when it’s hard. They hold onto their vision even on the toughest days.
Reconnect with Your ‘Why’
The people who pause their dreams often do so because they’ve lost sight of their ‘why.’ Or maybe they needed to realise that their initial ‘why’ wasn’t truly aligned with their soul. If that’s you, it’s okay. But now is your chance to reconnect with your purpose.
You Can’t Make More Time—But You Can Use It Differently
At the end of the day, time is our most valuable currency.
And you have right now.
When I come home, exhausted, just wanting to shower and stare at the ceiling, I ask myself: is this really what I need? If my mind is restless and my anxiety is running wild, simply lying there won’t bring peace. But if I take just one hour—just sixty minutes—and invest it in my goals, I move closer to the life I want.
One Hour a Day Can Change Everything
One hour—that’s all it takes.
One hour to lay another brick on the road to my dreams. There is no boss giving me deadlines, no external pressure pushing me forward. I must be my own motivator. And let me tell you, some days, that’s the hardest part.
So, I ask myself:
Where do I want to be in January 2026?
What kind of life do I want to wake up to?
What version of myself do I want to become?
Every single day is another step toward that reality. And now that we’ve entered April, I remind myself—there is no such thing as starting too late. Now is always the perfect time.
Taking Stock: Progress Comes in Small Steps
As I reflect on my progress, I see opportunities for growth. I see how I’ve improved just 1% each day. And I remind myself that tomorrow, I can improve another 1%.
So, how do I stay motivated? I look at my life as it is today. Am I happy? Or do I feel the pull for something more?
I feel it—the desire for a creative outlet, for deeper fulfillment, for a life that feels balanced and aligned.
And that pull is my compass. It’s guiding me, just as your pull is guiding you.
Time Is Your Choice
We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend them is our choice. The way you use your time reflects what you have chosen to prioritise. And there is no right or wrong—only what aligns with you.
I love that I’ve found a passion that doesn’t consume my entire life but instead enhances it. Once I sit down to create, I lose myself in the process, and it feels incredible. Just one hour a day is all it takes to build something meaningful, to plant the seeds of a dream that will one day flourish. And I cannot wait to see how it grows.
You’re Not Alone on This Journey
I’m not here to give you a list of productivity hacks or a step-by-step guide to motivation. But I do hope you feel supported in your journey. Know this: you are not alone. Every person who has ever started something new has faced these same challenges. And every step forward—no matter how small—is progress.
One of my biggest goals is to create resources that support and guide those who, like me, want to follow their passion in the online space. It’s not as difficult as it seems. And it is so, so worth it.
Whatever Your Passion Is—Follow It
The online world is vast, ever-growing, and full of possibilities. There is no ‘wrong’ path. You can start with one idea and evolve as you grow. The only thing that matters is taking that first step.
And if the online space isn’t your calling, I hope you still chase whatever sets your soul on fire—whether it’s a sport, a hobby, a craft, or any pursuit that brings you closer to the person you dream of becoming.
You are capable.
You are worthy.
You are going to do amazing things.
