My Intention

When I get out of bed, I hear the soft waves crashing outside, maybe there is even a bird or two in the sky. The sunlight has begun to dance through the blinds—I just can’t seem to want to close them at night.

As my feet touch the ground, the call of my pre-programmed coffee machine begins to fill the air with the promise of another good day. I wake to no alarm other than my body and the natural world outside. My day starts slow, with nowhere specifically I must go.

Then I hear my alarm, and I know the day has truly begun. I turn it off and switch on the light because I know myself—the only thing stopping me from falling back asleep is that invasion of bright light. I smile, though, because that first scenario—my dream life—I am building. But the one I’m in right now? It’s not so bad either.

After a couple of minutes of adjusting to the light, I remind myself: today is going to be a good day. It’s time to get up, to follow the 20 minute routine that some days feel like a dance, and  then I am out the door, ready for what the day will bring.

I don’t mind the life I have right now. Twelve months ago, these were the days I was dreaming of. But life does not stop when a goal has been achieved—so now it is time to begin working on the next one.

Do I want to leave my current work for that dream life I think about every day? No. No, I want both. Whilst I love the life I have built, the ocean calls me to come closer, and so begins again—the dream I am creating, one day at a time.

By leaning into my dreams, by understanding what it is I truly desire, I have ignited a passion project— launching this blog. When I first launched an online business in 2021, my intention was to launch a blog, but I leaned into every excuse and agreed that it wasn’t right for me. Maybe it’s not, but I will only find out by giving it a try. So far, it’s been fun.

If you know me, then you know I am a chatter, but I also enjoy putting my thoughts into words just as much as into everyone's ears.

So with an idea of my goals and what I am aiming to achieve—Welcome to my dream. It’s great to have you here with me.

My blogs will start small, and more than likely, unorganised. But that is what learning is all about— just starting and refining along the way.
